By O. Henry and Ambrose Bierce
Read By Scott Brick

Scott Brick expands the Gothic Horror library with Vol. 1.1, two new scary tales From The World’s Greatest Authors.

Listen to Scott spin the midnight tales from authors:

  • O. Henry's short stories enraptured American audiences at the turn of the last century, and whose story “The Furnished Room” was by far his bleakest tale.
  • Ambrose Bierce, a Civil War soldier as well as writer, whose “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” is perhaps the world’s most famous short story, labeled “a flawless example of American genius” by no less than Kurt Vonnegut himself.

“The Furnished Room” by O. Henry was first published in the New York World on August 14, 1904 and was later republished in the 1906 anthology The Four Million.

Ambrose Bierce's "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" was originally published by "The San Francisco Examiner" on July 13, 1890, and it was first collected in Bierce's 1891 book Tales of Soldiers and Civilians.
